visits with Dillard University President, Dr. Walter Kimbrough.
Recently, Dr. Kimbrough, along with Xavier President Reynold
Verret, announced that they are participating in a vaccine trial
for COVID-19. “Our communities have been hit hard by the COVID-19
pandemic, with harrowing consequences for the lives and health of
our fellow citizens. Overcoming the virus will require the
availability of vaccines effective for all peoples in our
communities, especially our Black and brown neighbors.,” the
presidents wrote in a joint statement. In this episode, we will
hear more about why he decided to do this, what it’s like, and some
of the controversies with the decision. We will also cover other
topics, including the rise of HBCU policymakers in the U.S.
