Christine Parton Burkett has worked with preachers at Duke Divinity School since 1991.  She holds degrees in theater and speech-language pathology and describes herself as a “professional pew-sitter”.  Experienced preaching coach, she is skilled at assessing the sermon and the preacher to encourage strengths and identify potential growth. Burkett was recently a guest on a webinar from the North Carolina conference: Livestreaming Jesus: Adapting to Preaching Online: https://nccumc.org/leadership/webinars/online-presence/

Burkett was kind enough to join us on the Louisiana NOW podcast to share her thoughts on how preachers can best use the tools they’ve been given and how these unique times are creating unique ministry moments.

Also in this podcast - we share a story from Newman United Methodist Church - both in Louisiana and in Oregon. To see the story, head here: https://youtu.be/FxWvCFG_0XU
